Engineered for Static Dissipation and Control Solutions

In commercial, industrial, or service workplaces, static electricity can cause a wide range of serious problems: explosions in grain facilities, downtime in assembly areas, integrated circuit damage in computer rooms- just to name a few.  To reduce the danger and to avoid the potentially costly damage associated with electrostatic discharge, Shakespeare offers Resistat® and Sanstat® fibers. The extensive Resistat® and Sanstat® collection comprises carbon suffused nylon conductive fiber products engineered to provide the most effective solutions to static control.  Our proprietary manufacturing technology allows you to design carpet and brush applications, plus knitted, woven, or non-woven textiles that conduct static away from sensitive areas and prevent its accumulation.

Our Patented Carbon Suffusion Process

Electrically conductive carbon particles become a structural part of the fiber.

Unique and patented, Shakespeare Conductive Fiber’s carbon suffusion process chemically saturates the outer skin of nylon fiber with electrically conductive carbon particles.  The carbon becomes part of the structure of the fiber, which retains the strength and flexibility of the nylon while maintaining excellent conductivity.  These characteristics make it ideal for mechanical, chemical, and thermal manufacturing processes.

Our Resistat® and Sanstat® carbon suffused products range in resistivity from 103 to 108 ohms per centimeter, depending on denier and filament count.  This conductive fiber controls electrostatic discharge and conducts low voltage currents without posing the hazard of electric shock.

Our unique suffusion process produces a fiber with a durable, conductive sheath that will not crack, flake, or lose its conductivity during flexing or extension.  Carbon suffused fibers are available as monofilaments,  multifilament yarns, tow, staple, and supported yarn configurations.
